Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Kakitori (“we”, “us”), the app’s independent developer. By downloading or using Kakitori, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app. Contact: info@kakitori.com.
1. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Kakitori for your own language learning. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Kakitori. You’re responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity under it. One account is for one person. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to use the app.
3. Purchases
Kakitori offers a one-time “Founder’s Key” lifetime unlock. It is a single payment, not a subscription — nothing recurring. Payment is processed by Apple or Google through your app-store account; we never receive your payment-card details. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Your unlock is tied to your account and restores on your devices.
4. Community content
Kakitori lets you create decks and publish them — including text and photos — for other users to import. You are responsible for the content you publish and must have the right to share it.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not publish content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable, and you may not abuse other users.
- Every published deck can be reported, and any author can be blocked, from inside the app.
- We review reports of objectionable content and remove offending content and eject the users who post it within 24 hours.
- We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion.
- By publishing content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, and display it solely to operate the community features. You retain ownership of your content.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure; don’t scrape or automate access; don’t try to exceed or evade usage limits; and don’t use the app to violate any law.
6. Intellectual property
Kakitori and its original content — curated decks, audio, artwork, and design — are owned by us and protected by law. Content published by community members is owned by its authors.
7. Disclaimers
Kakitori is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee specific learning outcomes, uninterrupted availability, or that the app is error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.
9. Termination
You can stop using Kakitori and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
10. App Store terms
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. The app store is not responsible for the app or its content and provides no warranty. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must comply with the applicable app-store terms of service and any usage rules in them, and you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo or on a prohibited-parties list.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We’ll update the “Effective” date above, and continued use means you accept the changes.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
